In February 2023 We are featuring exclusive products from Kyushu island, Japan. Visit Tokyo Central and Marukai Market at our participating store locations on the following days (**see schedule below**) and you can get a chance to taste local Kyushu products!

Kyushu (九州 “Nine Provinces”) is the southernmost and third largest of the four main islands of Japan. It is bordered by the East China Sea to the west and the Pacific Ocean to the east. A dynamic landscape of active volcanoes, hot springs, and fertile farmlands. Kyushu is epitomized by the words Energy, Fertility, and Gateway, representing its natural energy and dynamic people, the rich soil that blesses the island with delicious food, and its history as a link between Japan and the world.

Kyushu is known for its subtropical vegetation and heavy rainfall. The rich volcanic soil and regular rainfall have contributed to the region’s reputation as a gourmet destination, famous for its citrus fruits, green tea, sweet potato, seafood, and rich pork-based ramen. It is the site of Mount Aso, the world’s largest active volcanic crater, and of Aso-Kuju, Kirishima-Yaku, and Unzen-Amakusa national parks. Beppu in Oita prefecture is a well-known hot-spring resort.

**Please note: Schedule may be subject to changes. We recommend checking our schedule before visiting for the latest updates.**
