Wakayama Prefecture, located in the south of the Kansai region and stretching north to south, is blessed with the sea, mountains, and rivers. Depending on the season, you can enjoy various experiences. In recent years, Wakayama Prefecture has been attracting attention from around the world as a tourist destination. Every year, many overseas tourists visit Wakayama Prefecture as a place where they can learn about Japan in depth, such as Koyasan and Kumano Sanzan, natural scenery, hot springs, traditional culture, and the spirituality of the Japanese people from ancient times. Wakayama has charms that cannot be experienced in urban areas.

Throughout the year, Wakayama prefecture produces a large volume of fruits, Unshu Mandarin Oranges, Ume Plums, Hassaku Citrus, and Persimmons. In addition, various specialty products such as Peaches and Kiwis occupy the top share of the national market. Wakayama Prefecture is known as the “Kingdom of Fruit Trees” and “Kingdom of Fruits” because of its many attractive specialty products.
