If for any reason you are dissatisfied with a product, simply return the original product along with your receipt for a refund of the purchase price.
The following are exceptions:
- Alcoholic Products: No Returns/Exchanges for alcoholic products unless products were deemed spoiled, deteriorated, contaminated, or otherwise unfit for human consumption. Alcoholic products purchased in error must have a valid reason for error, must be unopened, and must be approved by Manager’s discretion.
- Tobacco Products: No Returns/Exchanges for Tobacco products unless products were deemed spoiled, deteriorated, contaminated, or otherwise unfit for human consumption.
- Gift Certificates: No Returns/Exchanges for any Marukai Gift Certificates.
- No Receipt: Refunds may be denied if you no longer have your receipt. Please contact us for assistance on this matter using our “Contact Form” from our website.
How to Return a Product
Products must be returned in their original packaging with the receipt to one of our customer service representatives at any of our Tokyo Central/Marukai/Tokyo Central & Main locations.
- ONLINE Returns: Not available through any of our websites.
Method of Payment for Returns
- CASH or Gift Certificates: If you purchased your product with cash or gift certificates, you will receive cash for your refund.
Personal Checks: Customers requesting a refund with a personal check must wait 4-5 days after their transaction date in order to receive a refund. This is to ensure that the personal check has been cleared and funds were received at our bank. Customers will receive cash for their refunds on their next visit.
We highly encourage customers with perishable product returns to call ahead to the store they wish to visit or feel free to contact us using our “Contact Form” from our website to inform us about the refund.
- Credit Card/Debit Card: With Credit/Debit purchases, refunds will only be credited back to the original card used for purchase. We will not be able to credit back to another card.
- Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay: Refunds will be credited back using your phone or the card that’s connected to your phone. We will not be able to credit back to another phone or card.
